Somewhere, someone at some point is that public debate and policy meant that we had to do as if you knew everything that was your world view to be easy, sorted and totally perfect, and everything you think be your enemy and said only spin and lies. Well, the world is not easy, and my thoughts about them are just not. I’m glad some things, passionately interested in many things, and often ambivalent or conflict about other things. It is a shame that hold most of our public figures are not free, the right to change their minds, respectful disagreement, sometimes make mistakes, or be silent at times. Silence by experts and politicians – that it would make a change!
This law is basically the rights of the goals of civil society and civil discourse and public debate. You would probably write a little different rights for themselves, develop the framework, and you express your ideas. But it is precisely this point. We can all talk. Interconnected through speech and writing and editing, we fight with the world and its problems. If the world’s problems were simple, intelligent people would have solved long ago. The world’s problems, conflicts and tragedies, and different perspectives are very ambiguous.
The power of civil society is to speak of democratic power of the masses, discuss, test and look for ideas. Appears as a series of measures less effective, we try another. Some of the ideas proposed strategies and solutions that are required to be misguided or stupid, or simply not work. In this case, I hope I do not agree. If my thoughts, my speech or my interest, I take responsibility. So, I must confess that I was wrong and change my mind. In many cases we do not accept easily.
I reserve the right to hold opinions and represented with equal passion to those who believe in the idealistic positions may be wrong to change my mind, to compromise with others disagree, and sometimes silence.
And I want to have the same right freely to you.
